Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known her real name as Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her in honor of her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. The actress has the title of being the younger sister of Uria and also has half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder relocated along with her family in Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They didn't even have electricity. Ryder was a voracious reader who spent all of her time studying books since she had no TV. Ryder, then 12, took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. In 1986, she was offered her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Ryder believed that her future acting as a professional would make a difference. It didn't work out. She continued to pursue the goals she had set. She made her debut in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in several films. In 1993, she was nominated twice to win Academy Awards. One of which was for her character in The Age of Innocence.
