Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music and R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and at festivals in Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Her real name is Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta her birthplace was Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church, where she sang as well as played piano. Her musical career began in Atlanta in Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan It has been remixed since by numerous producers and is a staple of her live sets. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was employed as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine came to national interest during four consecutive performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
